GoldieBlox's most current campaign in two minutes expresses:
- Although attitudes about childrearing have shifted towards more gender neutral play, girls toys are still being marketed in traditional fashion, i.e. pink! Not to say that girls need to rebel against all pink, rather that toy companies are not keeping up with the change in parenting.
- The shortage in female engineers. Although women have excelled in many occupations, now being half the population in careers like business, law, medicine and other sciences, women make up only a fifth in engineering fields and approximately the same percentage are pursuing engineer degrees in school.
- Combine two loves! Rube Goldberg and a remix of the Beastie Boys' Girls.
